Getting started

No. They point the normal phone camera at the QR code, a web page opens, they fill in a short form and they are checked in. Nothing to install, nothing to log in to.

A couple of minutes. Create your workspace, create an event, and the unique code and its QR image are generated for you straight away — ready to print or share.

Check-in needs a connection, because each scan is recorded as it happens. Most venues are covered by mobile data, which is all an attendee needs. Full offline capture is not built yet.

Yes, on the plans that include branding. Your logo, colours and event banner appear on the page attendees see, with no Convene badge on it.

Running an event

Each attendee is matched on phone number within an event, and that rule is enforced by a constraint in the database rather than only by a check in code. Even two scans landing at the exact same instant can only produce one record.

Yes. Check-in can be switched off at any moment, or given an expiry time so it closes by itself. You can also regenerate an event code, which instantly invalidates any QR already printed — useful if a code leaks.

Yes. The live monitor updates on its own and shows the running count plus the most recent check-ins, so you can watch a room fill up without refreshing.

Name, phone and organization, plus optional email, gender and country. You can also capture GPS, IP address and device where you need to evidence attendance. Location is only ever requested, never taken silently.

Data and security

Yes, and it is the part of the system built most carefully. Every record carries an organization id and that filter is applied automatically in the data layer, so an individual query cannot forget it. A query with no organization attached fails outright rather than returning anything.

Only people you invite to your workspace, and only according to the role you give them — admin, staff or read-only viewer.

Yes. Attendance exports to Excel, CSV and PDF whenever you want it. It is your data; there is no lock-in and no export fee.

It stays intact and you keep access to sign in and export. An inactive subscription stops you creating new events; it never deletes what you have already collected.

Billing

Your account and data are untouched and you can still sign in. You simply cannot create new events until a plan is activated.

It is 2 days, starting the moment you create your workspace. No card is needed to begin.
